Description

  • Canon 055 Toner Cartridge Magenta imageCLASS MF743Cdw and MF741Cdw
  • The process of printing an image in color relies on the use of four colors: black, magenta, cyan, and yellow. These four colors are combined to make up every other color in the spectrum. When reproducing an image, the printer must first determine which color values it is going to use to create each pixel. There are many methods that can be used to accomplish this task, but most of them rely on the printer using a set of pre-defined formulas that combine certain amounts of each primary color to match a specific color in the spectrum. The most common method for determining which combination of these primary colors will be used is called subtractive mixing
  • This method works by first defining a white point—the brightest and purest value in the spectrum, usually defined as a combination of all four primary colors. From there, it may subtract some or all of these pigments to create darker values. Once that is done, it can be used to find particular shades by adding different values of each remaining primary color until the desired result is obtained. Though subtractive mixing is simple and effective, it has its drawbacks—it requires more ink than other methods, thus increasing costs and waste. Another downside is that it tends to produce low-quality results when used
  • Color printers use a combination of CMYK to achieve the same effect. Without getting too far into the science behind it, this is why you might see what looks like a black-and-white image on your home computer but when you print it out in the "color" setting, it comes out in full color. In order for you to truly understand how the CMYK process works together with your printer ink cartridges
