The Galaxy M42 5G is the first smartphone in Samsung's M series to support 5G in India. It has a big 6.6-inch HD+ display with a dewdrop notch and a polycarbonate back panel. The HD+ resolution at this price is a major downgrade. The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging which is slower than what the competition offers.
It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G processor and has two variants, with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, while storage is 128GB. The Galaxy M42 5G runs OneUI 3.1 on top of Android 11. The 5,000mAh battery offered very good battery life but charging at 15W was slow.
Samsung's quad-camera managed well during daylight with accurate colors. Closeups too were crisp and had good details. Low Light shots were average but Night mode did show improvements. Samsung has cut corners by offering an HD+ display on the Galaxy M42 5G, and you will be better off looking for other options at this price.
